DESCRIPTION:Come and see this local favorite play at our taproom from 2-4 pm. Pushing Chain was formed in 2012 by Boyd Blomberg and Adam Moe. The duo\, which has been performing together in various manifestations since 1997\, plays roots and Americana music featuring Boyd on guitar and vocals and Adam on the fiddle and vocals. Pushing Chain plays original songs\, covers of classic artists like Bob Dylan\, Tom Waits\, and Nina Simone\, and some fresh new takes on old folk songs. The duo also features tight harmonies and a gonzo approach which keeps performances fresh and exciting\, even if you’ve seen them before.

The duo\, which has been performing together in various manifestations since 1997\, plays roots and Americana music featuring Boyd on guitar and vocals and Adam on the fiddle and vocals. Pushing Chain plays original songs\, covers of classic artists like Bob Dylan\, Tom Waits\, and Nina Simone\, and some fresh new takes on old folk songs. The duo also features tight harmonies and a gonzo approach which keeps performances fresh and exciting\, even if you’ve seen them before.

This outdoor festival has become a yearly tradition that we spend all winter looking forward to\, for real. Unlike many “modern” beer festivals\, this one has always been more laid back and easy going… like an overgrown backyard party for fans of good beer\, homegrown flavors\, and hanging out playing games with pals. \nFeatured at this fest are many domestic\, imported\, craft\, specialty\, and microbrews available to taste from—and also available at all metro area MGM locations—along with several food trucks\, live music from Hustle Rose\, tons of games and prizes\, and the ever-popular Brian Boru Irish Pipe Band. Brewers will give a short talk about their brewery and beer a half hour into the event at 7:30 pm. \nWhile the event will take place in the Winter Garden\, the grounds will be open and exploration is encouraged! \nThe evening will be complete with yard games like bags and ladder golf on the estate. DESCRIPTION:White pines were once a staple in the landscape of the North Shore. Our White Pine Project IPA was a beer with a purpose – to help reinstate the white pine population in our back yard. Proceeds from this beer went directly to planting targeted areas along the North Shore that will stand for future generations to enjoy.\nThis is where Team Danger Volunteers come in. You drank the beer\, now help us plant some trees! In addition to purchasing 2\,500 seedlings\, a portion of the proceeds of the White Pine Project IPA purchased around 40 young white pines. With the help of Lake County Soil and Water\, these trees are going to be planted at the Burlington Bay Campground right in Two Harbors. Let’s get planting!\nWhere: Burlington Bay Campground\, meet at the Visitor Center Parking Lot\nWhen: Saturday\, June 8th at 10:00 am until all trees are planted (plan on several hours.) Feel free to come for a couple of hours or to stay until the job is done.\nWhat to bring: Plenty of water\, snacks/lunch\, work gloves\, shovel (if you have one but some will be provided)\, sunscreen\, and any other outdoor gear you may need. Be prepared to get dirty!\nAll ages are welcome. Children under 18 must have adult supervision. As always\, if you volunteer you get a beer!
