DIRECTOR – SALES, MARKETING, TAPROOM – FULL-TIME
Location: Hybrid, with travel. Includes in-person visits throughout Castle Danger’s primary markets near the Twin Cities and the North Shore of Minnesota. Most workdays can be remote and office space is available depending on home location; position includes requirement for a regular presence at our brewery in Two Harbors and across our Minnesota/Western Wisconsin market territory.
Purpose
This position provides leadership for the overall sales and marketing strategies of the Company. This position oversees the three interdependent teams of Sales, Marketing, and Taproom responsible for the execution of such strategies. This position also works closely with the Director of Operations, Controller, and ownership to execute CDB’s strategic plan.
Management Responsibilities
Organizational structure of its teams, including recruiting, interviews, hires, and training of managerial staff in each department
Coaches and conducts performance reviews
Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy
Develops and manages budgets
Participates on the leadership team
Duties
Lead development of sales, marketing and promotional strategies including long-term direction, annual strategic plans and specific campaigns
Ensure sales and marketing efforts are in sync with company’s core values, core purpose, and vision
Drive performance and execution of sales, marketing and promotional strategies to meet company growth and profitability objectives
Monitor, analyze, and understand market trends and consumer feedback to inform shifts in strategy and action
Work collaboratively with other departments to optimize beer portfolio
Coach, motivate, and inspire a culture of accountability to performance metrics
Cultivate executive-level distributor relationships to ensure Castle Danger is a top priority in distributor portfolios
Identify, establish, and cultivate business relationships to create new sales and market exposure opportunities
Foster a culture of innovation, creativity, and possibilities
Participate on Leadership Team to develop business plans and execute CDB’s strategic plan
Participate in necessary trade events (industry, retail, and consumer) such as wholesaler conferences, trade shows, events, etc.

Requirements
21 years of age or older
10+ years of experience in sales, marketing, distribution, retail (food/beverage) and/or event execution
5+ years of departmental leadership experience
Thorough understanding of market developments, marketing strategies, and marketing practices
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent negotiation and presentation skills
Strong supervisory and leadership skills
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a variety of people at all levels of the organization and with third-party business partners

Physical Requirements
Ability to sit at a desk for prolonged periods and work on a computer

Ability to carry and set up festival supplies weighing up to 55 lbs

PACKAGING ASSOCIATE – FULL-TIME SEASONAL
Purpose
The Packaging Associate (Seasonal) is responsible for assisting operators in packaging beer and all other duties involved in the packaging process.
Duties
• Assist in the process of packaging beer: support packaging operators to meet production needs
• Palletize finished cases of beer
• Replenish consumable goods needed for filler, carton erector, and keg machine(s)
• Operate keg machine filler and palletize kegs
• Scrub and clean outside of kegs to prepare for internal washing and filling
• Following forklift certification – use forklift to move raw goods and beer to proper location, up and down from racking
• Assist trained operators in size changes to the filler and format changes to needed equipment
• Monitor all printed coding to watch for errors. Report defects to trained operators
• Monitor all finished goods for obvious defects, report defects to operators
• Monitor packaging line for jam ups and break downs. Communicate w/ operators in real time and/or repair if applicable
• Learn common troubleshooting issues to assigned packaging equipment
• Keep overall production area organized
• Adhere to correct PPE and all SOPs
• Other duties as assigned
Requirements
• 21 years of age or older
• Previous experience working in a manufacturing or warehouse setting preferred, but not necessary
• The ability to speak and interact effectively with others
• Professional presence; must conduct self in professional manner at all times as an ambassador for CDB
• Flexibility to work late/early and fill in where needed, when needed.
• Positive attitude and ability to work within a team, with a team first mentality
• Can take appropriate action with direction
• Ability to get forklift certified by CDB
Physical Requirements
• Must be able to team lift 170 lbs multiple times per work shift and stand/walk during entire shift while working in a hot, cold and humid environment

PACKAGING OPERATOR – FULL-TIME YEAR-ROUND
Purpose
The Packaging Associate (Seasonal) is responsible for assisting operators in packaging beer and all other duties involved in the packaging process.
Duties
• Operate beer packaging equipment
• Maintain accurate quality records and conduct regular quality checks
• Perform routine maintenance on packaging equipment
• Troubleshoot and fix maintenance issues with packaging equipment
• Communicate with Packaging Manager and all production teams on support needs and flow to ensure logistics are ready for next day’s packaging run
• Communicate effectively with teammates
• Stock and organize coolers
• Keep excellent inventory records
• Keep overall production area clean and organized
• Operate forklift, obtain, and maintain forklift certification
• Adhere to correct safety equipment usage and all SOPs
• Update SOPs as needed
• Other duties as assigned
Requirements
• 21 years of age or older

• Flexibility to work variety of hours when needed (Mon-Friday, no weekends)

Physical Requirements
• Must be able to team lift 170 lbs multiple times per work shift, bend, twist, stack 24 lb flats with beer onto a pallet, and stand/walk during entire shift while working in a hot, cold and humid environment

• Wage: $18/hr with no/limited experience, moving to $19/hr once fully trained; higher wage available for more experience
STREET TEAM / BRAND AMBASSADOR – PART-TIME
We have assembled a Street Team (commonly called Brand Ambassadors in the industry) of individuals who have a passion for craft beer and want to spread the word about Castle Danger beers in the marketplace. Brand Ambassadors are part-time employees who work liquor store samplings, beer festivals, and other beer events. We are looking to add to our Street Team in these areas we serve: Eau Claire/Menomonie, Detroit Lakes, Alexandria, Mankato and Northwest Wisconsin (Superior, Ashland). The minimum commitment we are seeking is 1 event per month. Benefits include hourly wage, discounted merchandise, and beer.
Duties include: Attending events and pouring samples, sharing information about Castle Danger Brewery and the beer and providing friendly service to represent the brand in a positive manner at all times.
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent, 21 years of age or older, passion for craft beer, strong communication and customer service skills, reliable transportation to get to events at 4pm during the week and various times during the weekend, ability to stand and remain stationary for long periods of time, ability to lift 55+ pounds and the ability to work independently.
